Officially the Republic of South Africa is the southernmost country on the continent of Africa, known for its cultural diversity and topographical variety. They gained independence from the United Kingdom on December 11, 1931. It has borders with Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland, and Zimbabwe.
Its economy is based on agriculture, minerals and tourism.
It opened to the world as a great tourist spot after the end of its Apartheid era where the government segregated people by their color and race.
