Located in Northwest Africa, the Kingdom of Morocco prevails with its mountains and deserts. Ruled by various empires throughout history, it was the westernmost province of the Roman empire, conquered by the Arabs and finally a French protectorate until it became independent on April 7, 1956.
Although evolving rapidly, Morocco is the only monarchical country in Africa and firmly maintains its ancient architecture and cultural traditions.
It borders with Algeria, Spain and Western Sahara and is the only country in Africa with access to the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea.
