Malawi is a landlocked country in Southeast Africa. It gained independence from the United Kingdom on July 6, 1964 and was formerly called Nyasaland. It is known as “the warm heart of Africa” for the friendliness of the people. It borderers with Mozambique, Tanzania and Zambia.
It is a country that depends on agriculture and fishing, its largest exports are tea leaves and tobacco. Lake Malawi occupies a third of the country’s area, making it essential for trade.
