Africa is the second largest continent on the planet. The name of Africa comes from the Roman, because its lands to the south were called Afriga, it was known as the land of the Afrig (Berber tribe). It measures almost 8,000 km from North to South and about 7,400 from East to West and represents almost 20% of the mass on the planet. Its northernmost point is in Algeria (Al-Ghīrān), southernmost in South Africa (Cape Agulhas), easternmost in Somalia (Xaafuun) and westernmost in Senegal (Almadi Point)

It is a continent with a very large mineral wealth as it has one of the largest reserves of oil, metals and gems. Along with this wealth, it is one of the continents with the highest biodiversity, including rain forests, deserts, swamps and forests.
